Subject: Accommodation wanted in BA
I am from New Zealand and will be going to BA at the beginning of August for
about 6 weeks. I am looking for some inexpensive accommodation near the
Congreso which I have been told is quite central to a lot of the Milongas.
Basically somewhere clean with a private bathroom and maybe shared cooking
facilities.
Thanks
Neville

Subject: Accommodation in NYC
hi List
I seemed to have read somewhere that there are not so pricy accommodation in
the Manhattan area.
Any one knows where they are?
I am staying for one night, September 5th. Friday. So that should be easy
to find, no?
Thx
Bibi

I wrote a while back, lost my data after my computer crashed.
Anyone in NYC has a furnished room or studio to rent weekly AND monthly? in
June and July. Need access to internet.

Bibi

Subject: BsAs Accommodations Don’t get it wrong!
A few months ago, surfing the tango sites looking for accommodation in
BsAs I came across what looked like a great place to stay.
I got a major discount when I asked for a one month booking, but at that
time I was unable to fix specific dates, so nothing was fixed.
A little while late talking to a friend in New Zealand about this place,
I gave him the web site address, after a careful review he booked two
months for himself and his wife.
The usual terms are 50% deposit on booking and the balance the moment
you walk in the door on arrival.
Last week I got an email from my friend and his wife, I have taken the
liberty to snip a piece out for your benefit.
The place we had booked to stay at in
the middle of San Telmo, one of the main dancing areas was a huge
disappointment. Very, very noisy, dirty and tatty bed and having to
share
an equally dirty and tatty bathroom with other people. We moved into a
hotel after two sleepless nights and three days later we moved yet again
into
a small but very quiet apartment in the heart of the city, which we
love. END SNIP
So I wont bother booking that place.
What I strongly recommend to you is, if at all possible get genuine
recommendations from people you know who have used the prospective
place. Failing that, try to get someone in BsAs to check it out for you.
The place I stayed for two months last year showed on the web site, a
series of rooms beautifully presented and decorated with antique
furniture. The reality was far from publicity, the four day rooms, were
all the same room, furniture shifted and changed around, one shot taken
from four different points.
On arrival, there you stand, brain and body dying after a 12 hour
flight, the request for money is made long before you get a chance to
check the place out.
I was well and truly ripped off! After I calmed down I could see the
funny side of it, it was very tired but clean.
BsAs gave me a great time, I will be there again in May
