Now I learn belly dancing, too, and since I started taking tribal

lessons too which ask for an awful lot of female muscle power and body
control, my tango improves dramatically with every tribal lesson I take.

A female friend of mine mentioned the same thing about belly dancing.

The muscle control probably helps with the disassociation that is
required to maintain connection with a partner.

T.C.,

>>my tango improves dramatically with every tribal lesson I take

And becomes more pleasant for me!

Not only. Tango is the dance of body, even though it is not as visible as in
samba or belly dancing.
You make your body play like an orchestra!

Thank you, TC !

Yes, sort of.
The dissociation is more a matter of flexibility. The muscle control helps
with everything you need for tango: strength, balance, flow, fluidity,
timing, fluidity,elegance, connection...
My whole body feels light one dense, flexible mass now, and my partner can
do practically anything with it. My body will follow, I don't loose my
balance, I don't wobble,. I don't lean after after a shift. Which means, I
am not only a great follower, I also have enough time to add any
embellishment I want. I can dance super slow motion or supper fast corridas.
I can do a whole long high boleo in slow motion and then add a lapiz with
that foot when I land and pivot on the other foot while my partner is
starting the next turn, and all of this elegantly while maintining perfect
connection. I noticed the tango teachers staring at my legs while I did
this.
I can also isolate my arms now, meaning, I can lift them without using my
shoulder muscles, like a ballet or flamenco dancer. Imagine what that does
to my posture. I can shimmy with my shoulders and shimmy with my hips and I
can roll my belly muscles. Imagine what that muscle tone does to my posture
!
