I had to be there to believe it. Some of you will remember the very distinctive, beautiful opening theme music, for sure at the beginning of Thunderball & Goldfinger (& other JB movies?). It took me right back to the mid-60s in my local neighborhood theater in inner SE pdx ("The Oregon Theatre" before it went porno in 1970).

Anyway, I danced to it last night at our new mixed-milonga & it works great! I've also enjoyed tanda of The Rolling Stones ("you can't always get what you want", etc), The Beatles ("I am the Walrus", etc), "I Try" by Macy Gray, "Best Day" by Dido, "Dance me to the end of love" by Leonard Cohen & on & on.

anything on a 2/4 or 4/4 beat could be used to dance tango on!
I remember dancing "shadow on the wall" by mike oldfield (very slow, but
danceable) in my living room with another tango-die-hard after the 2001/2002
tango-marathon at "el corte": after days of tango-music we still wanted to dance
... but were not in the mood for the tango tune itself. So we tried out
different pieces of my music collection ... the above mentioned one of a few.
Actually we later continued to Dave Brubeck's version of "take five" ...
which is 5/4 ... but we enjoyed "flying" around my living rooms dance floor.
Sure this was no "real" tango, not at all, but sure we had fun! A lot of fun!!!
And that's what it's all about, ne est ce que pas?
