dear friends from tango list
I have just talked with the organizers of la viruta, and they will held the milonga tomorrow wednesday as usual.
They told me that town hall major Mr Ibarra , exclude the milongas from the list of places that have to renew their licenses to reopen .
I will try to talk with somebody at the town hall ( maybe at the culture secretary ) , but ... it looks as if milongas are cleared :)

warm regards

dear listeros

The information i am giving about milongas, is what i am told for the organizers .

This is not a simple or difficult subject, it is just the way it is .

This thursday , Nina Balbuena will go with her usual milonga of viejo correo to Circulo Trovador at Vicente Lopez, that will not be closed since it is outside the city of Buenos Aires.

Club Platense is having a milonga also this friday , Zufriategui 2 021 Vicente Lopez. This is the side street of the General Paz/Acceso Norte avenue , right side going to Riachuelo. Many buses go there, such as 15 & 21 lines.
Telephone of the club is 4 797 6950 make someone who speaks spanish to call for you and confirm wether the milonga is going or not.

Circulo Trovador will be open as usual friday and saturday night , also is outside buenos aires city, but not too far away ( Avenue Libertador 1031 , vicente lopez)

La Barranca milonga runs on sunday at Club Banco Provincia , on Hipolito Irigoyen 803 , Vicente Lopez also.

This new situation of the milongas within buenos aires city ............. .
There is a french saying " there is no worse water than still water " , also William Blake said in the Proverbs of hell "expect poison from standing water"

Let s make the water flow for the milongas , sharing the day by day information , and .... do expect the best and prepare for the worse

Shahrukh,
Just a little correction. When you pick up at La Viruta their weekly schedule ( a little handbill ) you would see that there are no milongas at La Viruta. I noticed that first in 2006. Specifically, Friday (Sat in fact) midnight till 5AM is a PRACTICA, The same for the next night. Midnight till 5AM is a practica. Could be that some other external publications list those nights as milongas but I consider the Viruta's own schedule as binding. Obviously, the management decided to accomodate the young generation that feels restricted by codigos.
