Greetings, Listeros.

I haven't been able to get Radio Tango (https://www.radiocubik.com/) for the last
week or so. Instead, when I click on the Play function, I get an error message

"Unable to connect to server https://166.90.148.108:12260/? More information
available at RealNetworks Technical Support Website."

My IT genius has confirmed that there doesn't seem to be a problem at my end. I
have received no replies either from the website itself (using the Feedback
feature) or from Greg.

Can someone on the list help?

Thanks in anticipation and good wishes to all.

I have experienced this problem with Cubik for at least 2 months. At one
point, their site was not up at all. Now I could at least see the web image
and was able to choose the tango page, but when it came to picking the speed
of transmission to launch the music, I got stuck too.

So intead, I switched to Batanga Tango. From Realplayer, enter:
https://real.batanga.com/audio/tango.smi?mode=compact , or go to
https://www.batango.com and launch from there.

I however noticed that both access methods have been unstable today. For a
while I thought surely I lost it too.

If you find the solution to radiocubik, please let us know.

Bibi

"Bibi" posted a note about an alternative tango music source while
RadioCubik is down

https://real.batanga.com/audio/tango.smi?mode=compact , or go to
https://www.batango.com and launch from there.

I believe the second address to launch the audio is incorrect, it should
be https://www.batanga.com
The address given in the original posting took me to the page for the
San Francisco bay area tango web page...

Radio Tango Aficianodos

Clicking on the help function I found the following ....

<<If you're still having problems the problem could be network congestion at
the server. We are currently using AKA.com's streaming facility at Globix
Networks in New York City. Unfortunately, the facility there is not nearly as
robust as our previous facility at Frontier Global Center, and during
high-peak periods, major skipping may occur, especially with the 128k
channels. Until we can work out an affiliation or a sponsor with a better
quality ISP we are stuck listening to broadband channels during low peak
times. Sorry!>>

You may wish to query the webmaster and find out when this is expected to be
resolved.

Robert
