I only do the swtich to follower trick with ladies I know well. But
now when I ask a lady I don't know to dance I often ask, "Would you
like to lead or follow?" Why? It must be the result of all that work I
did with feminist Dorothy Jongeward in writing Choosing Success.

For details on that book you may want to Google "Choosing Success
Dorothy Jongeward" -- if you are interested.

Switching roles. Can be fun but not without a consequence.
The globalization of the new century makes more natural a feminine man and a woman that wants to be like a man. Maybe is the future. Maybe =
roles attached to your gender will be obsolete tools that people used to have in the beginning of XXI century.
I can do both roles in the dance floor. But I like and choose to do the leaders role because it makes me happy.
So, do whatever role you like and be happy.

I disagree. A woman who chooses to lead does not "want to be like a man"--she wants to lead. She wants the challenge, freedom and creativeness of deciding what to do with the space available, navigating it, interpreting the music and making clear, expected suggestions to her dance partner. While most cultures expect men to want challenge, freedom and creativity, there is nothing masculine or manly about these ideals--they are not gender specific.

In my opinion, following is also not a feminine quality--it is not gender specific.

Therefore a woman who chooses to lead does not "want to be like a man" and a man who chooses to follow is not "feminine."

Simply because the traditional practice is for a man to to lead and the woman to follow does not make this the nature of men and women, or truth, by any means. Slavery was traditional practice in many cultures. And so was burying newborn babies just because they turned out to be female. I don't think traditional practice is equal to nature. And it certainly is not equal to truth. If there are consequences to finally changing these practices, I think they would be great and welcome consequences! :)
