Hi all,

I just wanted to remind people we at the Tango Catalogue have excellent
pricing for the same selection of CDs that Zivals has. There is two major
benefit from product, whether CDs, Videos or DVDs from The Tango Catalogue.

We excel in customer service. We will take the time to help our varied
customers with their purchases at all times. We do our best to return all
correspondance within 24 hours. We belief if the customer finds the correct
purchase THE FIRST TIME they will be a return cusomter.

AND MORE IMPORTANTLY,

Since we ship our product from Boston, our CONVENIENT RETURN/EXCHANGE POLICY
allows customers to return or exchange all purchases within 30 days of
receipt of order. If you have a problem with CDs or other merchandize
purchased directly from Argentina the cost of returning CDs to Argentina
becomes prohibitive.

best,

Doug

Bernard,

Hi there,

My apologies if it seemed like I was putting down "the competitor".

The way I saw it I was simply including my companies postive points that
seemed to be excluded from the conversation.

My second email was sent because someone from the list pointed out that my
1st email was sloppily written, not checked for gramar, and it seemed silly
to me to send the same email with several corrections.

Your observation about my solisticing on a discussion list is well noted.
I self discpline.

Sincerely,

Doug

The second email was a result of my pointing out to Doug several
grammatical and spelling mistakes in his first email. I accept the
responsibility for prompting the 2nd post.

Whether or not Doug should have even sent the first message I
will leave to the flamers/police who attend on this list.

Cheers, John G.

To Doug, or to whom it may concern from the Tango Catalogue,

I hope that you read the returns from the list on your posting. Many don't appericate the use of Tango-L that belongs on Tango-A. I use to think that the Tango-A list had a small number as compared to the Tanog-L, but the Tango-A list has almost as many as Tango-L, and you won't insult future costumers by misusing Tango-L.

Subject: Re: Zivals Music Store vs. The Tango Catalogue

I've ordered at least 50 CD's from the Tango Catalog. I've alway gotten
excellent, friendly service. As Doug said, returns are easy - I returned a
defective CD, and in another case returned (unopened) a CD I'd stupidly ordered
which was a duplicate of one I already had. In both cases, no problem at all.
And for me at least, it's nice to be able to call and be assured of talking to
someone in English. A return to Zivals would hardly make sense, since the
shipping cost would be prohibitive.

On the other hand, I think Zivals has a bigger selection, and the cost is lower
if you are ordering several CD's. (Doug seems to say the selection is the
same, but I don't think so.) Zivals seems to have track lists for all their
CDs, but the Tango Catalog lacks track lists for many. Track lists are
important for me to minimize duplication.

Zivals has audio samples, but they have never worked for me. Have these
samples worked for anyone, and if so, how did you do it?

I hate seeing event announcements in tango-l, and I sometimes block senders who
post them. On the other had, I personally don't mind _occasional_ information
about other tango-related items. In many cases I think it's hard to say
whether a post is a "news item" or a "commercial announcement". In Doug's case
I'd say the recent posts were appropriate since they were a follow-on to the
Zivals thread. I think that is clear if we consider that if someone else had
posted the same information, there would be no question whether the post was
appropriate for tango-l.
