Subject: Gratitude

I've just returned from another wonderful weekend in Denver, and thought I'd
take the opportunity to express deep gratitude to all the remarkable people
who make up the tango community there. I've been fortunate enough to enjoy
the hospitality and talent of Denver's Tango community on many occasions but
this weekend was special. This time I came to Denver with Tango Lorca, a
remarkably talented and dedicated tango band from Kansas City, and, in
collaboration with Nick Jones (a very gifted teacher and dancer from Denver)
we presented a couple workshops in musicality for tango dancers.

I really want to thank all those who facilitated, inspired and participated
in those workshops. It was an absolute delight to share an afternoon with
such a talented, curious, and eager group of dancers and musicians. More
then anything, I come away from the experience inspired; feeling that tango
is indeed a living, growing tradition, that there is tremendous potential
when musicians and dancers communicate and teach each other about tango, and
why they love it, and that there are countless fabulous tangos remaining to
be created (both in music and in movement). So thank you Denver, and
special thanks to Nick and to Tango Lorca, for a memorable and inspiring
weekend.

If any of you have the opportunity to dance in Denver, or enjoy one of their
festivals, I can't recommend it enough. Likewise, if any of you are
fortunate enough to have access to live music, or the opportunity to create
dialog between tango musicians and dancers I'd encourage that as well. I
imagine results may vary, but there is so much benefit and so much potential
in this exchange.

Thanks for a beautiful moment and a bright future,
Korey Ireland
