Dear listeros;

I confess I've not paid much attention to the voluminous stats my website
server dishes out when I care to look. The satisfaction of receiving one
email from an interesting visitor has always meant more to me. Well, I am
happy to get lots of those. But numbers - well, it's just a tango website.
It is only what it is.

Now, however, I see that a milestone has been reached that sort of made my
jaw drop. As the "average" ToTANGO reader downloads more than 12 pages
(there are 136), and the 100,000th visitor is going to land in the near
future, the total of ToTANGO pages downloaded has passed 1 million. Of
course, if you added all the page downloads of all the tango sites, that
would be a more impressive number.

Gotan Project's Revancha CD has sold more than 500,000 units. Color Tango
has just released their 6th CD in what is turning out to be a good long run.

Surely the record companies are selling more than they were a few years ago.

More teachers are travelling to more places and every place has somebody
doing something.

Time is smiling on tango. (Thanks to the gods for the internet, which a big
factor).

The Buenos Aires tango scene is bigger than it has been for decades.

Isn't this fun?

And it's still such a smallish, exclusive thing and always will be. That
doesn't mean is isn't strong.

You did not mention the "Tango Shoes" by the vulgar
and vulnerable, strong, seductive, and smart as a
whip, Bif Naked. I bet someone in Denver is doing
boleos to her rhythm right now.
