Dear Tangueros y Tangueras,

High praise to Miriam Larici and Hugo Patyn who just came to teach a
series of workshops in San Francisco for the first time. It was agreed by
students from beginner level to advanced level that Miriam and Hugo are
the best, most attentive, and clearest teachers they had ever had. They
give so much attention to all their students and notice every detail in
the student's social dancing, so that they are able to give many little,
but vital, corrections. Their method of teaching is ver clear, and
students are able to pick it up very quickly because of their clarity and
the way they "build" their classes. (They begin with Tango exercises done
individually. They then progress to exercises done with a partner before
they go on to the step. The step is based on the exercises that were
practiced beforehand.) Everyone saw IMMEDIATE progress in their dancing,
which makes us all very happy! Thank you to these wonderful and devoted
teachers!

Happy holidays,

Anton Gazenbeek

A warm greeting to all the nice folks we met in San Francisco (and
Berkeley). We really enjoyed ourselves at the practica on Friday night as
well as at the Golden Gate milonga. Gaby and Ronda left Sunday but I also
got to go to a practica in Berkeley, Monday night (Hi Stella!). I had some
very nice dances and met some very nice people throughout our visit. Some of
you are specially nice and very welcoming to visitors. We like that, that is
how we treat folks who visit us ;-)

We missed the Thurday milonga at Verdi's because we landed very late in the
very scary storm (and in Oakland!) by the time the bus took ust to the SF
airport and we got our luggage, etc. It was way too late to go to the
milonga :( I also missed the milongas on Sunday since I was stranded in
Oakland and the BART stops at midnight :P Oh well, maybe the next time!

I was really pleased to experience the good level of dancing that I enjoy.
Ronda & Gaby were also very happy with their dance experience. SF is very
nice, we loved the late night life, etc. We'll try to come again soon.
Thanks to all the nice folks who sent me all the good information about the
tango opportunities, and other advise. I appreciate it a lot. please be sure
to look us up when you come to Atlanta.

Abrazos,

Manuel
