Subject: Nov 6: Tom's Advanced Fundamentals Workshop

Once again I'll present another of my popular "Advanced Fundamentals"
Tango Workshops. Assisting me will be Melinda.

Details:
- Sunday, November 6, 2:00 - 5:00
- Mercury Cafe
- Price $25 at the door. $20 prepaid.

TOM'S FAMOUS OCHOS FROM HELL CLASS (affectionately known as)

This will be a two-part class working intensively on skill-building
for OPEN-EMBRACE Argentine Tango, i.e. the tango style with pivoting
ochos, turns and sacadas. We'll have a little break in the middle for
rest and Mercury snacks.

Topics and material include the following:

- Exercises for balance, technical skills, and decorations.
- Self-powered ochos
- Sacadas and Counterpoint to Ochos
- Progressive, Over-turned, Asymmetric Ochos
- Six Versions of Right & Left Turns.
- Linking and breaking off turns.

Ochos and Turns require a lot of training before they become smooth,
and this class will be full of repetition, individual attention and
tricks to make the open-embrace tango work more smoothly. Wear
comfortable clothes so we can work actively.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This class is designed for Intermediate and better dancers wishing to
gain a better foundation for more advanced vocabulary. It is assumed
that you already know basic open embrace vocabulary, such as ochos
and turns.

This class is about achieving "EVER GREATER LEVELS OF PERFECTION".

My open-embrace style is based on Nuevo Tango concepts and methodology.

I present techniques for achieving spiraling-pivoting-swirling
versions of ochos and turns. One of my most important concepts is
"self-powered ochos", which makes the women extremely light and easy
to lead.
