Dear Dancers and Tango Musicians,

Does anyone know where I can find sheet music (any arrangement) for
"Flor de Tango"? The only recording of it that I know of is by O.
Pugliese . I would be most grateful for any information that you
could possibly give me about this.

Warmest regards,

Nina

Hi Nina,

If you meant "Flor de fango," you can find a score at TodoTango.com, in
the Library section.

Hope that helps!

Dear Dancers and Musicians,

I am still looking for the sheet music for "Flor
de Tango" (music by Julio Carrasco) recorded by Pugliese in 1945.
I am also looking for sheet music for "Junto a tu
corazon", music by Enrique Francini / H?ctor
Stamponi, lyrics by Jos? Mar?a Contursi.

I will be most grateful if you could give me any
information about where I could possibly find
these scores in any arrangement. TodoTango does not have either one.

Many thanks!

Warmest regards,

Nina

Subject: [Tango-L] Live tango music / Mandragora / Sheet music vs Own
arrangments

Good morning

We had the pleasure to receive
Bob Barnes of Mandragora Tango Orchestra
at our Radio program MTL BS AS V V.

I came to realize how special it is an
accomplishment for MANDRAGORA
to be able to find people
who will come, dance and listen to the same
group, every week-end, all year long.
There is no tango group in our community that
could sustain the interest of our tangueros
with this kind of exposure all year long

I have asked: How do you do it ?
What is your recipe?

Bob answered along the lines of
a large repertory and variety of music
to play mixed with various styles of dancing
including folkloric dances.

My own contribution to this discussion on
the limitation and availability of sheet music
AND how to produce musical arrangments
for a variety of musical instrumentations
would be to take lessons from a master
who produced a book on how to make tango
arrangmeents.

This book for a musician who is technically trained
was published by HoracioSalgan in 2001.
It is called Curso de tango and was available
for some time ago from Zyvals. ( It no longer is,
I think ). I found another address on the internet.
