neighborhoods.
Enrique Cadicamo described life at the cabaret, spoke of history and described emotional feelings.
Homero Manzi longing for neighborhoods and people that disappeared due to the pass of time and modernization, depicted views of the city and =
the depth of love relationships. He painted poetic post cards of the neighborhoods.
Catulo Castillo use of metaphors, reminiscence and alcohol.
Homero Exposito description of porten~os' social and psychological changes after 1940.
Enrique Santos Discepolo gave to tango his visions of lack of hope and skepticism. He made tango introspective and metaphysic, described and =
criticized the lack of morals and ethics of the ruling class. He was very pessimistic and finally he allowed himself to die by refusing to =
eat.

He said " Tango always originates in the street, it is due to this that I walk the streets of the city trying to understand its soul,
imagining what is that that man or that girl that pass by would like to hear, what would they sing in a happy moment what would be their song =
during a sad period of their lives". He also said " The main character of my tangos is Buenos Aires, the city. A little sensibility and lots of =
observation have provided all the material for my lyrics.
