naa, i prefer tvp over youtube anytime. high resolution, easy to download
and good and variety of categorization of clips.. tvp is truly dedicated to
tango. its sad its not working any more. hopefully it will be back online.

Sure does. It was present on 25th April but sometime in the following two
days all the content was removed, though the domain name remains active.

I wonder if this had anything to do with the content's apparent
infringement of music copyright. Certainly I found no mention on the site
of it having a licence.

I have just joined this list as I am too searching for the late TVP.
Hopefully we can get hold of the owner at some point.
Regarding the music copyright I wouldnt have thought that would
be the reason. These were amatuer movie clips, hardly a quality that
would have been reason for concern. I would hazard a guess that it was
his host pulling the plug because of bandwidth overuse or similar.

Here is a thought though, if we really can't get hold of James (I believe)
I wouldn't mind trying to revive something of a similar calibre. I work
in the webosting industry. If anything it was great to have a central place
for clips rather then tralling YouTube.

Side note; if James or the owner of TVP is reading this, please do contact me,
maybe I could help you out in regards to a webhost.

I don't understand the problem with YouTube. It seems to work fine to me. It's SEARCHABLE, as none of the alternatives are. And it's not likely to go away, like (apparently) low-budget TVP did. If having a central repository is the justification, isn't the TVP or a similar clone doing just the opposite - creating yet another site that we must wade through? Unless someone has a proposal for getting the hundreds of contributors and probably over a thousand tango videos already on YouTube transferred to your new site? J

J, you are completely correct. It would be a waste of energy recreating the site when all these sources exist anyway. My only gripe with Youtube is that people don't put proper tags on their videos and
you end up searching through untango related clips in till you find what you are looking for.
You can of course build a list of subscriptions but this takes some time.

When I mean a central source I mean a place where the only videos that are on there are related to Tango only.

Hey,
It seems TVP is back. Given a choice I would goto TVP to download stuff,
cause high resolution and the option of downloading the clips are more
useful to me. Youtube has its own place because of its universal
accessibility & search. Great to have both of them.
Thanks
Neeraj

be done with youtube.
