Subject: after TANGOMAGIA IV

Dear list,
a happy new year to you all. I just want to say thank you to the
hundreds of people that came to visit the fourth Tangomagia festival in
Amsterdam (27-30 December). I want to thank you for making the journey
from all parts of the world to Amsterdam and by your being here, helping

us to make this festival a truely international event. Many of you
stayed in the Barbizon hotel, where the daily tango-cafi with d.j. Diego

Riemer contributed to the festival atmosphere. The festival's big salon
in the Beurs van Berlage was visited by over 900 people and many
tangueros told me that they had only seen a milonga like this on
pictures of Buenos Aires in the 1940's. The orchestra Color Tango, that
finally arrived despite the trouble we had due to the crisis in
Argentina, has played truely beautiful and inspiring (on the first
evening in theatre De Meervaart accompanying a show with all
teaching-couples).
All the evenings were well visited, as were the workshops by our great
maestros and maestras. Thank you! We hope to see you again by the end of

2002 at Tangomagia V, and please, if you feel you want to share your
experience at this festival, send me your comments !!
