Greetings

I recently undusted a CD I bought about 3 years ago featuring classical guitarrist Goran Sollscher playing arrangements of Beatles' songs for =
classical guitar (the Beatlemaniac little old me, and I used to play classical guitar too). The album is titled 'From Yesterday to Penny =
Lane', in Deutsche Grammophon. I purchased this CD before getting into tango as well. Anyway, to my complete amazement, see my jaw mopping the =
floor when I listen afresh to three tracks with an arrangement for classical guitar and bandoneon, and with a very clear tango twist. For =
other Beatlesmaniacs in this list (I bet I'm not the only one), the tracks are the witty 'Come together', a rendering of 'I want to hold =
your hand' that brings you to tears, and 'Help' to sort of milonga beat.

All three arrangements are LUSH. I read in the credits that the arranger is Hans-Ulrich Bastin, and the bandoneonist is Arne Glorvigen.

Simply sublime.

Manolo,

In case you don't know also try to listen to Tangoloco, Daniel Garcia
Quinteto (with other invited musicians participating) "Tangos De Liverpool".
If you are Beatles + tango fan you will like the arrangements in this CD".
Great Sounds of 11 Beatles songs plus one track per Daniel Garcia.

A Bravo to the musicians of the quintet!

I second Manuk's suggestion, a great CD and lot of fun.

I just checked Amazon.com for the price: $34.99.... yipes! I think I'll
pass. But re: Sollscher's artistry... he's a superb classical guitarist. I have
several of his albums.

Eternally grateful to you for this advice. I've just listened to some sample
tracks in Daniel's website. Different sort of arrangements to Goran's CD,
but I'm listening right now to 'If I fell' (to me one of the great
underrated Beatles' songs), and gosh, I'm melting already...

Great stuff, thank you.

Dear friends from tango list
Does the Beatles have any opinion about tango ??
Well , one of the songs they sung on the beginning , not from them , was "Rock and Roll music ", from Chuck Berry, and one line reads

" Don't care to hear 'em play a tango "

Another tango situation is this statue of Eleanor Rigby in London , that Tommy Steele , the artist, made to represent lonely people , therefore the bench is with Ms Rigby in one side and the other side remains empty.

Maybe she is waiting for the nod of the head(cabeceo) to dance Tango:)

Warm regards
