Question for anyone who has recently been to BsAs (like in the last 3-4 weeks):

Is it easier now to make withdrawals from the ATM machines (than it was last year)?

Apart from the usual restrictions imposed by one's home Bank (limit of $xxx within any 24-hour period) are there any restrictions
imposed in Argentina by the Fed Govt. due to the financial situation down there. If so, how/what/how much/etc?

Muchas gracias.

John G.

Hola John and others tango friends:

You can be relaxed. Everything is going well.

There are no changes about making withdrawals from the ATM here in Buenos Aires.

Apart from the usual restrictions imposed by one's home Bank (limit of

$xxx within any 24-hour period)

The financial situation is stable. The only restriction for security reasons is (pesos) $1,000 (One thousands pesos) per day. It means U$S 335 to 340 American Dollars.

Buenos Aires always has Open Tango Season

and

Argentina always has its doors open!

Best Regards.

Julio Corazza.

Hello to John and others-

I just returned from BsAs and had no trouble using my ATM card while I was
there (except for one bank machine that happened to be getting restocked
with pesos when I wanted to use it). I always bring some travelers checks
with me as a back-up in case a machine eats my card, or some other
unforeseen thing happens, but you shouldn't have any problem withdrawing
pesos with your bank card. :-)

Best,
Hillary
