A word of caution on ordering custom shoes from Fattomano.

While in Buenos Aires I have ordered custom shoes from Fattomano and prepaid
for the shoes and for FedEx shipping. This was two months ago. I have tried
to get any info from them about the shoes (FedEx shipping number or at least
if and when the shoes have been shipped). In vain. They simply ignore my
messages.

Beware.

Cheers, Oleh K.

Oleh, I spoke with Juan Carlos of Fattomano a few minutes ago. He explained
that he lost his notebook with customer information from the trunk of his
car. He had the shoes ready to send but didn't have your address. They
are being picked up today by Federal Express and will arrive in 3-4 days.
He didn't receive any emails from you, but received a call from your friend
Alberto in Palermo and explained the situation to him and obtained your
mailing address.

I'm not surprised about the email problem. Only days ago I received an
email from someone in the US with a hotmail account and answered him. He
wrote me that he received my reply with a blank message. He arrived in BsAs
today, so I called him at his hotel. He explained the problem is Hotmail.
You may have sent a message but that doesn't mean it was received. There
are US email accounts which will not receive my emails (juno; rr.com).

Fattomano has been making tango shoes longer than other manufacturers. They
make a quality shoe to your specifications in a matter of weeks for a very
reasonable price. Try to find someone to do that in the US. Fattomano is
the only shoe manufacturer I recommend in Buenos Aires.

I think you were a bit hasty in jumping to the wrong conclusion about
Fattomano. You came to Buenos Aires for only one week--not enough time for
a custom-made pair of shoes to be made. The other alternative is to buy
shoes off the rack and carry them home yourself.

I wish you had called me weeks ago to handle the situation for you. It took
only five minutes to learn about the situation and get the shipping
information.
