Hello to all,



I finally heard from Barbara Durr, who gave me the information on where
to send donations to her admirable effort at producing a tango
documentary. As I mentioned a week or two ago, I got to see a preview of
her work "Chasing the Ghost" in Missouri recently, and was very
impressed. It is incredibly well done, offering a glimpse into the lives
of many Buenos Aires tangueros/tangueras, and their inner feelings about
the culture of Argentine Tango. It's well-filmed, funny, (and serious),
and poignant, and really needs to evolve to its completion while many of
the "old guard" are still around and able to contribute.



Please send tax-deductible contributions made out to "Image", to IMAGE
Film and Video Center, 75 Bennett St Suite N1. Atlanta GA 30309, making
sure that you note on your check "Chasing the Ghost". Barbara will also
be in Denver Labor Day, if you'd like to hand her a check in person!



Barbara sends her thanks, and says she is not so far away from finishing
the rough cut, and is very dedicated to producing a documentary that
will really tell the story of the "why" of Argentine Tango. And that's
the bottom line, isn't it? "Why" have we all fallen in love with this
beautiful way of life? "Why" is it much more than just a dance? "Why"
does it have such a powerful culture built around it that we all love,
but many times not understand? These are some of the questions this
documentary addresses. Let's help Barbara search for the "Why"!
