Just a quick note to say:
THANK YOU
to Tom Stermitz, Tango Colorado and all the DJs and teachers who helped make last weekend so pleasant for mere mortals such as myself.

Now that I am home, and my feet have stopped aching, and I've almost caught up on my sleep I can truly appreciate the effort made by so many people to enable visitors like myself to participate.

I also got to meet & dance with people who post here, and that was great too.

Once again, thanks.

Hi, Karen -

I liked your "chatty" review of the recent Denver festival. It was
interesting to get your impression of the cabeceo experiment. For my
part I sat in the couples section with my wife and danced quite a few
lovely tandas with her and with other men's wives sitting as neighbors
to us. The seating arrangement seemed to break the ice at our end of the
room, allowing strangers to strike up conversations. Later in the
evening as the sexes mixed to a greater degree throughout the three
seating areas I danced with some single women...

I had a great time that night but missed out on seeing all the wine you
reported. I saw almost none, and I was looking! When there is no wine I
start to miss that element of the milonga experience -- I like to have a
glass or two of red wine while resting and watching the other dancers.
Melanie and I were hoping to see a no-host bar brought in and staffed by
the hotel, but that didn't happen. Eventually, we carved off and took a
break inside the hotel's garish, smoky sports bar so that we could enjoy
a glass each. Not "drown our sorrows"... :^) Next time we will make
sure to bring a bottle in from the outside and you can report yet more
wine in evidence. It is so much less pleasant to sip wine while watching
Top Fuel drag racing on a big-screen TV as opposed to elegantly-dressed
dancers in close embrace on the dance floor!
