Subject: Beautiful Tango TV Show

All across Canada tonight, on the main CBC TV Network, there was an hour (no
breaks!) of very fine tango music.

Daniel Binelli (bandoneón) with Linda Lee Thomas (piano) and César Auglair
(guitar); plus Montréal's Quartango, played lots of Piazzolla but also
originals and standards. They were both set up in the same large studio. The
ensembles alternated with some introductions by the leaders. It was so nice
to see and hear Mr. Binelli - who also danced Cumparsita with Ms. Lee
Thomas for the finale (César augmenting Quartango).

All of the music was spirited and eminently danceable. These musicians
pleased and engaged a lot of hearts tonight with their music. It was real
tango and it was real now.

Quartango displayed a sexy new line-up - with Denis Plante playing fine
bandoneon and making his musical sensibilities felt - and a wonderful young
woman violinist who will kill me for not getting her name from the
broadcast. Apologies.

This production was by Rhombus Media, one of the top producers of artistic
television. So it will get broadcast windows around the world.

It is quality, passionate, inventive, Canadian/Québecios/Argentine tango -
and lovely music.
