I recieve everyday e-mails like.....

"Naked girls for you FREE"

"the cheapest via-gra"

"Enlarge your little you-know-what."

" i am Tahun Gapul forn Nigeria and i want to deposit 25 million doollars in your account"...

" Get free insurance for your car".....

" Lowest interest in home mortgage"....


And more.....

Even if we try to avoid reciving this kind of mail, addind them to the =
"do not accept mails from this address" list. They send everytime from a =
diferent e-mail address and there is nothing we can do to stop recieving =
this.

My question is:

In tango-L At least the advertisements are Tango related, and we all are =
tango fans.
So, why cant we be a little more supportive with this ppl that is trying =
to promot and organize
a nice tango Venue, workshop, lessons, fest, or what ever they organize.
All this things help to grow ach tango comunity, and thats we all want, =
more dancers, more milongas, new ppl to dance with...

Organize any kind of Event is so expensive, advertisements are sometimes =
imposible to pay.
Especially if we talk about TANGO EVENTS, where ppl pay usually not much =
to get in.

You tell me where you can go in U.S for 5 - 10 dollars (milonga cover) =
and expend the whole night?

Think... from an organizer perspective...

P/S: Tango-A has only about 100 members, how can anyone promote and event within 100 persons worldwide? Tango -L has about 900.

Patricio: I am totally with you and the way you think.
In the Tango-L ,there are passive readers and big
mouth talker (3 or 4 of them ..) that think they own
the list .
They also are the bible of any tango topics. Where
many times ,no tango related topics, for weeks on the
list....
If is not moderator....do not play the one and allow
people to make mistakes without judgment.

Tango A has more than 100 members. It depends on the tango A category you
select. Tango A: E has a different number of subscribers than Tango A:
EW, Tango A:W. You have to sign up for each tango A geographic location
separately.

Since there are no moderators, I don't know how we can get a subscription
count by geographic location, E,C,W EW, etc.

For the record, Tango-L has almost 1100 subscribers and Tango-A has 800+
subscribers.

Sorry to hear that, dear friend. Your absence will be
a great loss to the List. Yours is one of the more
sober, relevant, and inspired voices on it. There
aren't too many of those around these days, sadly. I
