Hello, List!
I am interested in conducting a survey.
Two questions only:
1. What is your favorite tango to dance to?
2. What is your favorite tango to listen to?
This is my favorite tango to dance to and to listen: "Aqos de soledad" -

Close tie for dancing between Piazzolla's Duo de Amor and some older
candombe like Firpo's El Nino Jacinto .. I adore candombes! As to for
listening? I can't listen to them without dancing, so it must be both.
Candombes are so infectiously joyful I can hardly stand it, I just start
vibrating in place if I'm standing .. they're perfect to play with the
counter-/complementary- rhythms I mentioned in my musicality post last week,
too ..
As a side question, why don't most dj's tend to play many candombe-milongas?
From my (perhaps limited) experience, most communities I've visited (ours
often included, with a few exceptions) have no or very occasional candombes
played. I just got to dance to my first live-music candombe over the
weekend! Wow .. Also, as I haven't yet made it to BsAs (next spring, I
think!), how commonly are they played in venues there?
