Subject: Lake Wobegon and tango
Actually Lake Wobegon is about 15 miles from wherever you are in Minnesota,
but more like 50 miles outside of the Twin Cities. :) I grew up in a small
town in MN, and can really relate to the stories and people Garrison Keillor
talks about.
In a related note, a group of tango dancers (3 of us traveled to Bs.As
together last year) recently got tickets to the Prairie Home Companion show
(they're hard to get!) So they were doing the skit from the Catchup Advisory
Board, and Barb had recently won some free tango lessons (from Raoul) and
this was a little tough on her husband. He asked her how he could be certain
that she wouldn't get overly involved, to which she replied that the notion
was silly, although she did indulge in a little fantasy of moving to Bs.As,
where Raoul could get her a job and they could spend their nights dancing in
the clubs. (Read the transcript here:

Anyway, it was such a coincidence for us to be there, together, (none of us
had ever attended before) and then for them to talk about tango!
FYI, the Prairie Home Companion show is a radio show hosted by Garrison
Keillor, who has created a fictional town called Lake Wobegon that he talks
about on his show. He is a popular writer as well, author of Lake Wobegon
Days among other books.
