Sergio says: "When it come to "calesita" the lead is "please stay on your
axis on one leg
and rotate". this message can be conveyed by naturally placing the follower
on her right leg keeping her there and then rotating."
After reading all the messages and reviewing my lead last night at the
milonga, I reach the conclusion that we are all talking about the same
technique. I used the word "lifting" but actually there is no real lifting.
One steps to the side (step #2 of the base) the lady is on her axis on her
right leg, and then the rotation starts. The upward feeling in her left arm
pit is an illusion the same as a "displacement" during a sacada.
I think, however that there is a lifting movement or upward pressure of the
right hand of the man on the back of the lady to indicate "syncopate" or
"lock behind."
I am glad we all agree!
Salut!
