Subject: MP3 REQUEST LA PUNALADA
I had a particular version of la punalada on cassette which I have been
unable to find anywhere else after it got ruined.
It was not D'arienzo's version, and it started with 4 bandoneones
throbbing all at once.
I had recorded it off a tango program in Miami, and the gentleman who ran
the show said that it was off an LP record probably by odeon.
During my last trip to Buenos Aires, I was unable to locate that
particular version despite scouring the new trueque stores that have
sprung up as of late.............

Planning a trip to Bs As myself, planning on shopping for tango music, and
wondering what you were referring to when you said, "the new trueque stores"
?
Thanks,
J

I've been listening to "La Punalada" by Los Reyes del Tango. It sounds note for note & stylistically just like the DArienzo version, but with modern sound.

The CD sez: "La Ventana" Buenos Aires, Argentina...Los Reyes del Tango by EPSA music. 1995
Tracks are: El Internado, Felicia, La Morocha, Loca, El Huracan, La Punalada, El Rey del Compas, La Cumparsita, A Media Luz, El Chocolo
The high-fidelity sound is wonderful. I danced to a tanda of this at Alex's last fall & there was an audible gasp/sigh of deep pleasure at the end of each song...
Enjoy...Rick
