Some of us seem better able to grasp or understand the (world) issues
sorrounding the terrorists attacks. This is very important because knowing
the issues would help to resolve or correct this situation. Those who do not
understand the issues like myself are drawn into a collective shock,
repulsion, and a feeling that justice should be served right away.

I feel that those who perpetred or assisted in the execution of these crimes
should shoud be dealt with the full force of international law(s).

A question that seems to escape from the printed word (newspapers) is what
can be done globally to stop terrorists and violent acts from ever occurring
in every part of the world?

Unless we know what the real issues are and find a way to correct this
situation is highly unlikely we will see a stop to these terrorists acts.

History tells has shown that the methods used to eradicate terrorism in
other parts of this world has only but caused the lost of more human lives
and had brought no effective resolution.

If everybody has a grasp of the issues will be in a position to make a
positive change. A message on this dicussion list, which is intended to
inform on whatever issues are related to the recent terrorists can not be
regarded is untimely. Quite frankly I do not get to read in the newspapers
or TV news the kind of issues Tatiana's posting is presenting.

With all due respect to Bruno and Tatiana, this is totally off topic and
should not be discussed in the tango-l. I would not be surprised to find
myself under review by the moderator for opining on this subject, but I feel
that I must. First of all, many of us grasp and understand world issues
quite well but are utterly repelled and sickened by this incident.
Discussion of "world issues" and blame assigning to the US or Israel are
quite inflammatory topics anyway and as far as I'm concerned are poorly
timed and off base.

We know what the real issues are in this. The single biggest issue at this
time is that the attack was done by people who will neither take
responsability nor issue any demands. It is fine and good to talk about
issues and dialogue but just who are we supposed to talk with and just what
are their terms for our surrender? It seems to me that the terrorists
responsible for these cowardly and heinous acts are bound and determined to
kill as many of us in the USA as they can and to wreak as much havoc and
chaos as possible. I fear now that we (all of us, hispanics, blacks, jews,
anglo saxons, etc etc.) are fighting for our lives and not for any ideology
or political issues.

So what options do we have?

All the good will of the people of the US will not matter at all to the
people who would kill us all with out giving it a second thought. All
discussion of "issues" and world affairs is pretty useless for the purposes
of our defense. Further discussions of any US responsability for this attack
are ridiculous, insulting and inflammatory at this point. I do not deny the
errors and missdeeds of several administrations but no country is without
blame, nobody is perfect and certainly no one should be casting the first
stone at the people of the USA in this dark hour. I promise that I'll not
write any more on this subject in these forums, but I just had to get this
off my chest. We, the people of (or in) the US are not to blame for this
cowardly and vicious attack by the terrorists (apparently from the middle
east). The US does not deserve to be so terribly hurt. This is my adopted
country and I for one will stand by it and do whatever I can to help rebuild
the damage and stop the perpetrators from doing it again.

Sincerely,

Manuel Patino
