Hi Petra.
Really, I think you provided some helpful advice.
The enquiry was about teachers of a specific style in your country, Switzerland.
The advice you gave was well considered, appropriate and should not offend anyone, including the teacher you suggested may not be best =
for that style.
(He may not prefer to teach it himself, even if he does know it!).
Now the enquirer has some informed options.
This list was made for sharing of advice and information (and arguing about authenticity, how long it takes, and all that fun stuff!).
Keep up the good work!!
Mel.

Yes! that's the beauty of the "pocket tango-matic" after a few uses, it
inbues the user with a permanent "tango personality". I would suggest
however that you keep your tango-matic as you migt want to re-charge your
tango-ness from time to time. Studies have show that viewing stage
performances of tango and extendend listening to old scratchy records of
such orchetras as canaro, Donato, De Caro, etc. can actually "overload" your
tango senses..... Prudent reapplication of your tango-matic can help re
align and tune your skills.....
Oh yes, although your tango-matic can be transferred to ithers, it's
imperative that the new user register with us and obtain a licence for
re-assignment. Just call 1-800-be-a-tango-god and have your credit card
information handy!

I can go along, (possibly), with the extended viewing of stage
performance tango may overload your tango senses.
But never could I accept that I would go into tango sensory overload due
to listening to any tango music from the golden era, even with some
scratchy overlay, its part of the core root and character of tango.

Ah, but here is where you err my friend.... Any "I can have a newcomer
dancing tango in 5 minutes" teacher knows deep in his pure tango heart that
watching a good tango performance can corrupt you and make you into a
soul-less performer of steps and flashy moves... However, any lover of
alternative tango music or just audiophile quality music knows within his
aesthetic heart that listening to those old scratchy tangos will soon bore
the listener to death and send him or her running away from tango as fast as
their legs will carry them...
Enter, the tango-matic. This fabulous device has succeeded where many trued
and failed. The unified theory of tango. Yes, you no longer need to worry
about the tango being all about feelings or all about skill. No worries if
its a particle or a wave or whether the music must be rhythmic of sensuously
symphonic. Throw away your doubts and fears. Forget long and tedious
"learning curves" never again feel ignorant and inferior to those old
musical know-it-alls.... No need to purchase and listen to many tango
recordings, forget Buenos Aires. Just wear your discretely place tango-matic
with the optional tune-o-matic and you are one with tango.

With all that throwing away, I don’t think your left with a lot of
tango.
For my tango, please, please, bring back all those thrown away items,
take me back to BsAs, and you can stay home and play with your toys,
discreetly hidden of course!!
