sombody who is chewing.

The worst part of dancing with somebody chewing gum is when they are uncoordinated. They step with their left foot and chew on the right side of the mouth. Their foot and mouth are on cross feet (or is it cross mouth??) But that is NOT as bad as chewing off beat.

Enjoying my niece's graduation in New Hampshire
But missing tango in Washington, DC
I'd rather be dancing argentine tango

One of our (wealthier) dancers and his partner took a series of private
lessons with Carlos Gavito. In the end the man tried to become a Gavito
clone. The one remarkable difference was, that he remained unable to kick
his habit to look at the floor while dancing. And that he took up chewing
gum. Then his partner took to chewing gum too. So you would see these two
people doing all this fancy, slow motion footwork, whith both of them
constantly grinding their jaws in concentration, chewing away, which
completely ruined any kind of eroticism their moves might have conveyed
otherwise. The rest of us used to sit and watch them in amusement, grinning
and giggling and whispering to each other about their odd habit of chewing
gum.
