Subject: Thank-You! from Tampa Bay!

THANK-YOU!!! to everyone that helped make the "Fourth Annual Night of Tango
in Tampa! such a HUGE success!!!

The yearly show that we invite the general public to and the weekend of
workshops for the Tango dancers were both truly wonderful!

There were over 400 people at the show, the biggest crowd that we've ever
had! We have received only the most complimentary comments about the entire
evening. All of the dancers from our local communities were extremely well
received, including: Ronda and Manuel Patino from Atlanta, Selena and
Alberto Hoyos from Orlando, Lydia Hensen and Randy Pittman from Miami, Laura
Brondo and Oscar Orzuza from Miami (and Argentina), and Desiree Munera,
Victor Crichton, and Luisa Meshekoff from Tampa Bay.

Of course our featured dancers had the audience in awe! There was an entire
theater of jaw-hanging, eye-popping, can't-believe-what-I'm-seeing people.
Miriam Larici & Hugo Patyn and Natalia Games & Gabriel Angio treated the
people of Tampa Bay to incredible and diverse views of Argentine Tango well
beyond their expectations. To say the audience was incredulous would be an
understatement!

Both of these wonderful couples also taught a weekend of workshops that
everyone in attendance thoroughly enjoyed. They all found that they learned
many useful things while they were having fun. I had many great comments
form the attendees such as "I love the fact that they are teaching
technique, not just steps" and "the exercises before this milonga class were
worth the price of the weekend all by themselves"

We also had incredible live music for two nights by "Tango X Three", they
are Miguel Arrabal on bandoneon, Jorge Verniere on piano, and Rances Colon
on double bass. They play unbelievable music for dancing and amazed the
audience in the show with their musicianship and the depth of instrumental
Tango when they played a couple of featured numbers. For me though, the
true beauty of this band is that they enjoy playing for dancers and you will
not miss your CDs while they play, as we sometimes do with live bands.

The show also included a terrific singer, Horacio Raval. Horacio had the
audience in the palm of his hand as they were reminiscing to earlier times
while he sung some their favorite Tangos.

I would highly recommend any of these performers to any organizer promoting
Tango in their area.

This event would not have been possible without the help of many, many
people who volunteered to be ushers, ticket takers, equipment movers,
promoters, out of town hosts, transportation assistance, and a hundred other
tasks. They are far too many to mention individually but Desiree and I will
do that personally, but I would like to give special recognition to all of
the people of our local Tampa Bay Tango Club whose help in every way was
absolutely invaluable!!!! and to Blanche and Emilio Librero who opened up
their beautiful dance school to us for the entire weekend!!!

We are also pleased to announce that we will have the "Fifth Annual Night of
Tango in Tampa!" as well as a full weekend of workshops on August 23, 24,
and 25th, 2002.

A HUGE Thank-you to everyone who attended, helped, and made the weekend so
wonderful for Desiree and I!!!!
