Subject: a visitor's introduction to tango in BsAs

My sister visited me in Buenos Aires for the first time during November. We
started ballet classes together when we were 5 and 6 years old and have
danced all our lives. Her visit was an opportunity for her to see the tango
that has been my passion for 12 years. She even bought a new pair of shoes
for the trip so she would be prepared to dance. First I talked with her
about the codes and customs in the milongas. Then I took her to a milonga
one night for an hour to experience the real thing. The next day she was
eager to go to a tango class. I introduced her to Jorge De Gouvea and Irma
Barrientos who have a group lesson on Tuesdays. She watched Jorge and Irma
dance and then danced many tangos with Jorge. My sister likes to lead--we
danced rock and roll together as teenagers--but she had to let go and allow
Jorge to take charge. She learned by dancing with this milonguero. She
loved the class, but unfortunately we didn't have another opportunity to go
to a milonga during her five-day visit. Later she wrote me that the
highpoint of her visit was the class with Jorge. She asked me to recommend
tango CDs. It seems that she was bitten by the tango bug in Buenos Aires.

Hi all,

Recently I was consulted about a "new"
(and in my opinion very suspicious) version
of El Huracan by D'Arienzo on a CD edited
by Lantower. While googling for Lantower
(I don't own the CD) I found a discussion
in this list about another track "Don Esteban".
There seems to be more than one problem with this edition.

As a result I decided to give this list a try.
So here I am...
