Dear Christian,

Although it is slightly getting off-topic, but...

This is the trick: you do not HAVE to accept. Actually, one price for one
product is only true when we are talking about products. This is an entry
fee to a club...

Also, I buy CDs from Germany for 0.22 EUR per piece incl. postage . The very
same brand is at least 0.4 EUR per piece if I buy it in Hungary... The
difference is, that I have to look for it in Germany. The Hungarian market
for these CDs stands only because people are _willing_ to pay 0.4 per piece
when they can find it in a shop. If you are willing to pay the higher fee,
then they've won. If you rather go to an other place, then they've lost (and
probably change policy). This IS capitalism. I also lived in a socialist
country, and we only have very limited experience in capitalism (less than
Argentina has) however this is something I've learned: no one gives a damn
about ethics until it is legal and generates extra profit - actually it is a
sure way to bankruptcy if you do...

From an even more extreme point of view: what makes you think you DESERVE
equal status? If there is no law for it in Argentina, then you don't.
Democracy is not about equality. It is only about the equal opportunities
for the citizens of the country. Which may or may not be extended to
non-citizens. Either don't use your own system of ethics to their country or
don't go there (or learn to swallow...). Check what the meaning of the
lunfardo word "gil" is, then you'll see what the "white man" deserves
according to a century of tradition...

Best wishes,
Aron

I also found that domestic flights in Argentina are discriminatory. It
costs more for non-Argentines to fly in Argentina but I think it's not
necessarily wrong since foreigners can afford to pay more.

I just want to say:
Men don't complain when girls have a free admision and we have to pay 10
bucks to get in a club.

Argentineans = Girls
Tourists = Men.
If the girls are inside men will pay to get in....
Need explanation?

I don't totally agree with diferent prices depending on the nationality.
But if you think its not fair just don't go.
If they want the tourists back, they will lower the price again or even post
"Tourists FREE".
Demand - supply.

Is hard to understand when you are the one that have to pay more.
But 10 pesos is nothing for somebody who makes at least 25000 U.S dollars a
year.
Compared to somebody that makes... lets say 18000 Argentinean pesos ( 12 x
1500 a good salary in argnetina)
Whis is not more than 7000U.S dollars

Bye all

Pat

FALSE!!!

The entrance fee is not equal to 10 Pesos [3,50 US$] but much higher
calculating the overall cost for a tourist to get down and stay in
Buenos Aires!!!

Flight = 800 US$
Hotel / 2 weeks = 400 US$ (don't forget: at home you stay for "free")
Milongas / 2 weeks = 14x10 Pesos = 140 Pesos = 50 US$
Private-classes = "???"

This is at least about 1400 US $ / 2 weeks,
equals 100 US$ a day ... to dance!!!

I don't want to destroy your myths, folks, but you're easily spending
about a 100 bucks a day just for dancing!!! =:-o
[yes: I did the same! And will do it again!! :-))) ]

Happy dancing at fair prices, anywhere!

That hits the point: if you could have been sure you'd not be charged
more than others you might have bought something. but now, for sure,
you did not buy anything at all!

Conclusion: same prices to everyone gains more than charging tourists
higher!
