Hello all,

Steve makes some very good points about ease in dancing tango. If you are a beginner tango dancer, I suggest that you read his posting again.

A couple of quotes come to mind that are related to what Steve is saying:

"You can't hit [a baseball] and think at the same time." - Yogi Berra

Same applies to dancing and thinking too. You can't dance and think at the same time. I also think it may be difficult to hit and dance at the same time too.

"Anything worth doing is worth doing badly." - Oscar Wilde

The people that are driven back to more instruction instead of practicing more, I think, don't accept themselves being less than average dancers or being beginners. There are some things we can practice in private, but, to get better we must get out on the social dance floor and dance with a variety of partners. And one can do that easier if he accepts himself and his level of skill and not be overly worried about what others think of him.

Regards,

Russell
