Dear List:
I was not going to get involved in this discussion in any way. I do not know
any of the people involved. However, I was a little distressed to see that
various individuals are being accused of "creative writing" of these e-mails
between Pibe and whoever this woman is. When these e-mails first appeared I
wrote to El Pibe and I received the response below. My reading of Spanish is
not that good, so someone with more skill may correct me. But my
understanding of this is that he is saying that someone hacked into his
account and posted his e-mails to the list. However, I don't think he denied
that they are his e-mails. I hope that everyone can just let this thread
end. It's embarrassing and unsavory for all concerned. My only motive in
posting this is to stop further speculation about which person with
supposedly bad intentions may have created these communications out of whole
cloth. I hope this doesn't muddy the waters any further. I thought for a
long time about whether or not I should post this, but since it is a direct
response on the matter from Pibe, I concluded that I probably should.
