Subject: El Sur
Hi there,
A good many years ago [before I knew about
the world of tango and before I was an admirer
of Piazzolla] I have seen a film, called El Sur,
reflecting a darker time and place in Argentina.
The film score is by Piazzolla and I
believe the director was Fernando Solanas...
After all this time I very much would like to
see the film again, especially because I am
very fond of the theme by Piazzolla. However, it is
as if the film is completely non-existant in the
North American continent:
I tried some respectable specialty vendors and
also the chain stores [e.g. Block Buster has an obsolete
entry with nothing in stock], tried some university
libraries, searched the web etc.
As a last resort I come to you, dear list, to see if
anyone knows any way of ordering this film [preferably
but not necessarily with English subtitles, preferably
but not necessarily in DVD]. Any vendor name in whatever
country will be appriciated...
While you are at it you could also tell me if you also like
the music... :) [The film itself is too foggy to remember
in detail for me after all this time...]
Cheers,
Melih
Continue to labor day in denver (sigh)! |
