38  Embarrasing Moments

Subject: Embarrasing Moments

Hello All,

My apologies to those who have already received this when I posted it
over a month ago. At that time it "fell off" the list, so I'm reposting
it.

Although I can't say that my life is replete with episodes I wish had
never occurred, I certainly have experienced my share of embarrassing
moments.

One such moment occurred about a month ago at a popular weekly milonga
in San Francisco. I was dancing a tango with one of my favorite partners.
We have known each other for over 5 years, so we both feel comfortable
about breaking the taboo of silence while dancing tango. In fact, we often
do so. Unfortunately on this occasion my partner decided to say something
just as we were passing the speakers, so I couldn't hear her clearly.
It sounded like, "I like the dancers here." I responded by saying,
"That's why I come." She looked puzzled, so I thought we might be
miscommunicating. I asked what she had said. She replied, "I said I
like Nancy's hair, and I guess you REALLY like Nancy's hair."

Moral: Break taboos at your own risk.
