In DIETA tango composed
by Carlos Libedinski
and available on the
CD Tango for the new
millenuum (2000),
He makes fun of people on diet,
chewing 100 times each grain of rice
on its plate.
Carlos Libedinski uses a lot
of humor in his tango.
Among the Classics
ASI SE BAILA sung by Alberto Castillo
has also a ring of humor to it.

Isn't there an Alberto Castillo number with animal
noises? The "meow, meow, meow" is the prominent sound
for non-Spanish speakers, but somebody told me there
was a joke in the lyrics.

Good evening Marisa
Tango actors were well known for
their humorous side while singing tango.
Alberto Castillo is one
( I have not heard of the meow-meow,
must be funny )
There is another actress, also a tango
singer whowas known to be funny.
Tita Merello who passed away last Christmas.
( You can see ther in the movie of Carlos
Saura ) Tango, while a female singer tries
to sing as fast as she is donig on the screen )
Nino bien sung by Tita Merello is a comic miniature.
A young man poses as an upper-class man about town,
carrygin all the stereotype: gomina, well dress, etc.
while in fact he is poor and will probably remain
poor all his life.
Best regards

The piece that you are refering to is a milonga called "El Gatito En El
Tejado". I have it on Castillo's CD called "Candombes y Milongas". It is a
rather fun piece to play when people are in not too serious mood.
