Corrections or suggestions?
Calo is like a good red wine...a really good Pinot, not one of those
common, thin ones.
Fresedo/Ray: pink Champagne, romantic, fun, a little sweet, not to serious.
De Angeles: tart white wine...Summer, maybe a little easy, not for
winter in front of the fire.
Canaro...hmmm, maybe more of a mellow Beaujolais.
Di Sarli: a spare, dry Bordeaux
Pugliese....Port, or single-malt Scotch?
Troilo.....Cognac?
D'Arienzo....Tequila or Rum?

Hello Tom,
Nice idea. Mine goes like this:
Tango - red wine
Waltz - champagne
Milonga - beer
It's a metaphor that seems to help new students anyway...

Hey Tom and Russell:
They are great descriptions
No mention of Piazzolla?
Well I think of his music like a really full bodied, complex red wine
With some Thunderbird and MD-20/20 mixed in (cheap fortified wine if your
not familiar with the names).
David.

I've got an OLCC server's permit & served wine for a friend's horse jumping show. Apparently red wine isn't chilled. That was news to me ;o) I do know I have to shove ex-Senator Bob Packwood out of the way to get at the boxed wine at the local supermarket. Guess I'll stick to beer, which pdx has lots of good microbrews. I prefer the modern breweries, some produce their own robust beers & others cover recipes that were done before the 50s, with splendid results...
