?
The style is called tango. I wasn't interested in salsa at this time even
though there are some great salsa clips at youtube. Do search for "salsa
dance" there.

The clip from Lille, France - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEgyPDLZ60s is
curious because it demonstrates an example of what I call "close embrace
dancing with giant steps". I also saw the same style danced by some younger
couples in Rome (couldn't find any clips of milongas in Rome at YouTube) but
nowhere in the USA.

There are a lot of videos of performances at YouTube. I have collected those
in the separate playlists here:

https://www.youtube.com/profile_play_list?user=tangospring

The playlist I have send originally collects footage of people dancing *
socially* at milongas, not performances.

Still, why at all clips in your collection they dance in the same style?

All the "performances" I brought as an example, are "social" tango.
They are an exhibition of different styles of social tango.
And there are many more.

Here is the real show performance:

Oleh, thanks for this great collection! You have rendered a real service to
Tango-L.

Additionally:
The style these two youngsters from Lille exemplify is the typical social
dancing style at practicas like El Motivo at Villa Malcolm on Monday night
in Buenos Aires before Canning opens. It may be no coincidence that
Gustavo, Fabian and Chicho have taught frequently in Europe, and Chicho for
one can often be found at Villa Malcolm on Monday nights.

All the best,
