Probably the most serious mistake a beginner can make, other than taking only
privates, is to try to learn basics from a video.
A "good beginning tango video" is basically an oxymoron, so no, they don't
exist. Don't waste your money, no matter who teaches it. You need hands-on
experience and coaching to learn how to dance well, most importantly at the
beginning.

take a basic lesson. as basic as possible.
do *not* learn more than the basics [as possible even not the so
called "base", at least *not* with the back-step on "1" (back step
for the laeder)] and perhaps forward and backward ocho!
