Dear Mr. Seth,

You start your note with "I thought your message a little
apocalyptic,..."

I was trying to be somewhat amusing as well. I do not believe too much in
those things .

Then you proceed "So we are blessed these days with an increase in Tango-L
messages, from new writers. "

I find that here you are a little naive my dear friend Mr.Seth. It is true
that we are "blessed" :) with an increase in messages but they are not from
"New writers".

For those of us that have been reading the list from its beginnings it is
obvious that the "new writers" are old ones disguised, with masks, halloween
costume and new names that nobody ever heard. That is the reason I
emphasized that aspect, names that nobody ever heard. "Treat or trick".

This subject of " the real milongueros" " the ones that know the only and
true tango", " the ones that cannot travel to the USA because do not fulfill
the minimum requirements to obtain a visa, the same ones that do not know
how to teach but will dance with anyone willing to pay good money, the ones
that are almost at the verge of being declared endangered species, has been
brought up again and again by only two people in this list, one a woman and
the other a man. Both live in Buenos Aires and try to make a living from
tango.

You continue: "Senor Saenz,After all the gun powder smoke clears, would you
please be so kind, settle the confusion and tell us, clearly, what bothers
you?
On one hand you shoot down everyone in sight, complain that no one dances
"authentic" tango anymore, then proceed to shower praise on stage dancers
performing at a commercial Tango Festival which, by the way, has been
heavily promoted in the US."

Pedro Saenz (IMO) is an alias used by one of the above mentioned characters.
His written language has some errors made on purpose as a cover but behind
the mask it is easy to see who the real writer is....:))

Another clue:

Here we are dealing with somebody that makes a living by promoting the "real
milongueros", ...

There is nothing bad about doing this, the problem is that we have to put
down all the other dancers and teachers that are not "the real milongueros",
the ones that qualify for a visa and for teaching tango abroad.
By doing so then we can attract more tourists to come to Buenos Aires to
learn the real tango.
A simple machination created by a convoluted mind.

As I said before my dear Mr. Seth, this subject has been discussed many
times and always brought up by the same two characters disguised under
different names. As you say it is good to allow this to illustrate the new
comers, I entirely agree with you.

Best wishes, Sergio

If an Argentine wants to teach in the United States, the person needs MORE than a visa. They need a work permit, which is completely different =
than a visa. The State Department issues visas. The Department of Homeland Security issues work permits.

Hi everyone!

Devil's Advocate here again >:-)))

Michael forgot to mention something else, apart from a visa and work permit, that foreigners need to get in to the 'States (and that's not just foreigners from third-world countries - it also applies to 'friendly' nations).

You'll need some lotion to soothe your wrists and ankles from the chains and irons you'll be clamped in at customs, a good psychologist to help you on your return from deportation and the grilling you'll get at immigration, and to be endowed with a hump like a camel in order to sustain you while you sit for hours on end with no offer of food nor water... ;-)
