Dear Segio and everyone else on this list,

This is off-topic, as it is about people (this list AND general) and not
tango. (so if you are not interested: press DELETE, please)

Actually, just look around. If you try find an environment which is
similar to this, then you'll find that people (independently from
nationality) will act the same... Let's take your own country and
politics, or filmcriticism or public life in general: It doesn't matter
what someone says, there will be always one person or rather a group who
won't be pleased. It is human nature. This list is not your local
milonga, not your bunch of friends and not your family. (although, if
you think about it, you may find the same things even there...but, in
most cases at least, they won't tell you in the face.)

The theatrical un-subscriptions, the acidic mocking letters, or the
much-too-ethical lectures are all part of this. The same happens in your
country every day: a party stands up in the assembly and leaves the room
collectively before (or after) a speech or a vote, politicians spitting
on each other through the media, or establishing themselves as saints,
scorning the opposition because of their wickedness. Naturally,
politicians are just different in one thing from ordinary people: they
must convince their public to adopt THEIR views, THEIR values (THEIR
interests...).
Here on the list, people use instinctively the same methods. They want
the others to accept their ideas, their views, their values of tango or
of posting... Someone tries reason, someone tries cynism, someone tries
emotions, someone tries emotional blackmail...

IMHO it is not wrong. It is human nature. And no amount of contradictory
philosophy is going to change that.

Even now: I am actually trying to convince you not to get angry because
of these postings, and to adopt a nonchalant, above-all-human-failings
attitude towards transgressors...

Probably there will be someone in 1100 people with an urge to throw
stones this time as well...
