Dear tango friends,

Well the weekend in Memphis certainly proved to be one of those weekends of
all times. Six of us made the 6 hour road trip. It was wonderful, warm and
friendly, very productive, and well managed. It started with a wonderful
Friday night welcome party, on into Sat and Sun.

Our in home hostesses proved to be the hostesses with the mostesses,
providing us with excellent accommodations and valued transportation.
Thanks to others for the rides too. You could tell the whole tango
community had pitched in to help.

What a great workshop with Cacho Dante. He certainly lived up to my
expectations that preceded him, and then some. We learned so much, usable
information that will really be helpful in teaching our community. I like
his style of dancing, so smooth, feet never leaving the floor. Try the
walking with paper under the feet exercise.

The body lead is hardest for us to learn, he made it easy to understand what
the feet need to do to keep the contact with the chest. It seems to be more
shifting the weight and pivoting that keeps it flowing smoothly.

One ballroom instructor I am teaching was joking on the way home that it was
so great that he could be so close with 12 women all in one weekend! The
couple with us was on a crash course before traveling to BA. I think this
workshop really gave them an idea of what to expect. Two women I took were
first timers and still were included and never ignored. Thanks, Cacho,
mission accomplished.

Traveling from the Houston community was our translator, translating the
language and the dance. Thanks, I know Houston has more like you, another
road trip, maybe.

Memphis is a great place to visit, we enjoyed a night out after the milonga
at one of the local blues bars. But move over blues, tango is moving in as
one of the choice entertainment possibilities in Memphis.
