Oh Wow!

How can anyone who loves tango not love milonga! I can't comprehend that at
all. I know its harder and more challenging for beginners, but it just opens
so many more doors to the possibilities of the dance. It is so integral to
the spirit of the dance family that we call tango. In pretty basic terms -
ones that work alright for me anyway - I see this dance family as comprising
Tango (emotion sadness poetic drama etc), Vals (romance hope beauty), and
Milonga/Canyengue etc (fiesty spirit, 'attitude' and fun). I feel sorry for
those who don't experience the full range of these possibilites, but I guess
not everyone is in to every thing.

For the sake of your own dance enjoyment, I'd thoroughly recommend you don't
'switch-off' when you hear a milonga - just shut your eyes and try to 'feel'
it, as you know you can do with the tango. Maybe try moving yourself to it
quietly in a corner somewhere - no partner - just you and the music. Open
your mind to it like I hope you do with tango, and the way to dance it will
grow on you. Its worth the effort.

Cheers, Gordon
