my partner jennifer has made us business cards that
say tango milonguero at the top, so, for the time
being, i'm going to keep calling what we do
milonguero, at least until the cards run out.

Thanks for getting this discussion going, Robin.

"Pegajoso" means : sticky, contagious, clinging,
soft, gentle, mushy. I have danced tangos that have
been all those things at once. Some people of the
lower socio-economic classes, or folks who know only
'street Spanish' may use it in idiomatic expression to
mean something quite crude [involving pubic lice], but
that tells me more about them than it does about the
word itself. I verified these meanings with eight
native speakers from seven different countries.

As for the other discussions which have sprung from
your initial query - they really are off-topic and
redundant. I have my own definitions of those who
dance {my style and yours}: if they lead from the
chest alone, they are dancing {my style}. All other
methods of leading are producing a different
feeling/style.

The most ironic thing I ever heard was an American
woman and frequent poster to the list told Arquimbau
that she wanted to learn 'Club Style Tango' and what
he was doing was not it.!! So, not even the
authorities are enough of an authority for some of us.

Hasta marzo,
Nancy
