With all this discussion on good and not so good music I am reminded of an
old quote.
"Talking about music is like dancing about architecture"....
Music is an emotional experience and emotions vary within ourselves, let
alone each other.
There is no such thing as "the perfect dance music"; only what works or does
not for a part of the audience when it is played...
Music that tugs at the heartstrings can overwhelm the scratchiest of
recordings for some and leave the others insufferable or indifferent...
The best a DJ can do is try and sense the overall atmosphere and choose
playlists accordingly. No DJ will be able to please everyone at the same
time as each person will have a different emotional reaction to the music
played.
My $0.01 worth anyway,
Brett.
