When I teach my friends Tango, 1 on 1, I like to use music that they might be famliar with, that's fun for them & me, has great sound & a steady, rhythmic beat of around, say 65 to 85 or so, beats per minute. Lots of it, I also do Night Club 2 Step to, perfect for that as well. I might toss in some Color Tango, Los Reyes, late DeAngelis & more. Often we're out dancing other styles of dance & I'll quickly show them a cross, ochos & grapevine in a circle & we're off. These people already know how to dance other dances at a pretty good level. Here's some of the Alternative Tango music we love to dance to... * "Tango to Evora" Loreena McKennit* "Represent" Orishas
* "I Try" Macy Grey
* "Sunny Came Home" Shawn Colvin
* "Truly, Madly, Deeply" Savage Garden
* "I knew I loved you" Savage Garden
* "Breathe" Faith Hill
* "How Do I live w/o you" Faith Hill
* "Love of a lifetime" Firehouse
* "I hope you dance" Leeanne Womack
* "This I Promise You" N'Sync
* "Adia" Sarah McLachlan
* "You're Still The one" Shania Twain
* "Careless whisper" Wham
* "Lady in Red" Chris DeBurgh
