Second, the tango-a has a much smaller number of subscribers so your

Tango-L subscribers: 1,147
Tango-A subscribers: 946
Most subscribe to both lists.

That's true. But Tango A is compartmentalized into NA-E,
NA-C, etc. and each compartment might have much fewer
subscribers than Tango A. It would be interesting to get a
count of Tango A subscribers by : NA-E, NA-W, NA-C, etc.

NO! The Bat Mitzvah is NOT at Stepping Out.

Hmmm.... I guess I was thinking about the number of subscribers I saw the
last time I checked. IIRC, there were but a few hundred tango-A subscribers.
I think the ratio was about 3:1
I'm glad to see that more tango-L subscribers are now in the tango-A as
well....

I believe that the tango-L is not further compartmetalized. We all receive
all the postings regardless of the NA-E, NA-C, etc. in the subject line.
Those are only to simplify the culling out of posts according to geography.

As an "advertiser" on Tango-A, I post rarely, and only to announce special
deals that we might be offering. I can't always afford to send a printed
brochure or announcement.
I think people want to know when someone is actually having a sale and have
started posting to Tango-L.
Please let me know if you wish us to confine our announcements to Tango-A
All the best,
Robin

This is true, everyone gets everything, but the
sender should categorize by location where the event
takes place.
Unfortunately, many organizers interpret this to
mean, "This is who I want to read my ad," so they
put in their header things like, "NA-E, NA-C, NA-W:".
Attention, organizers: IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU, IT'S
ABOUT US, THE READERS. We're big boys and girls. If
we want to travel from out West to back East in the US,
for example, we can decide for ourselves without you
putting the whole dang country in the heading.
When we as readers peruse Tango-A, we want to
be able to tell from the header which region of the
country or world the event is actually taking place in,
not where the organizer feels we should be willing to
travel all the way from (eg., the entire country).
The excuse given is, "Well, we often get people from
all over the US to our events, so we put the whole
country in the header! :-) :-) :-)" Well gosh, why
not throw in Europe and Japan as well, heck, their
tangueros travel here too.
Please, folks, just put the region where the
event takes place in the header, so that it actually
serves some kind of use to the reader.
Thanks!
Huck
