Subject: OT: insults & personal attacks

I fail to understand the need to send insulting
emails.

It's quite possible to refute a statement or disagree
with an opinion without resorting to insults and
personal attacks. The use of such insults, attacks and
other attempts to discredit the other person often
suggests the author lacks knowledge and information
and perhaps the logic and intelligence to respond in
another manner.

If any of you disagrees with another person's opinion,
why not state your opinion instead of insulting the
other? If you feel another person has stated something
incorrect, why not give the correct information
instead of insulting the other?

It seems to me that people who disagree about tango
are bound and determined to disagree with each other
about anything and everything. If you truly cannot
stand to read anything another person says, why not
filter their emails to the trash or delete their
emails before opening them? If you despise someone
that much, why waste your valuable time and energy on
that person, especially if it's just someone in an
internet list?

In many email lists, insults and personal attacks are
not tolerated. After the first incident, the
transgressor is warned. After the second, the offender
is removed from the list. Perhaps that wouldn't be a
bad idea for this list...
