Subject: passionate dancing.
I have seen some of these so called passionate dancers, they have no clue
about the beat of the music, the change of tempo, the difference in musical
motif, and they shuffle along the dancefloor seemingly disconnected from the music
that swells around them.
Likewise, I have seen very technically adept dancers swirl and twirl and
sacada their way into tango euphoria, but again, disconnected from the sounds.
Great dancing is having the technical abililty to interpret the music as it
plays and to convey that great oneness/unified moment of emotion to the
partner. Being able to dance well to what the music is speaking, how it is flowing
through your body to your partner's is the essence of the passion for me.
Using one's body as an instrument to join in harmoniously with the other
instruments in the music, and to do so with personal, responsible abandonment and
compassionate kindess for the partner is what creates the existential luxury of
the dance between 2 people.
